In which we open the floor...

Stolen from about half my friends-list:
Everyone has things they blog about.
Everyone has things they don't blog about.
Some of us rarely blog.
Challenge me out of my comfort zone by asking me about something I don't blog about, but you'd like to hear about, and I'll write a post about it. Ask for anything: latest movie watched, last book read, political leanings, thoughts on lima beans, favorite type of underwear, favorite classical artist, etc.
Re-post in your own journal so that we can all learn more about each other! I'll do my best to answer the questions publicly, although I reserve the right to be less than 100% candid depending on the topic.

Date: 2008-03-12 05:08 pm (UTC)Let me clarify by saying that, as a societal requirement in order to shape a woman to a particular body-form, I'm anti-corset. I'm talking solely "self-induced, self-pleasing" corsetry here.
I have a beautiful black silk, steel-boned corset that the viking bought me as a 5th anniversary present. It is one of my motivating factors in losing weight again. I was probably a size 12 when I bought it. I'm now at 16, and it no longer fits well. And, out of pure vanity, I refuse to buy another until I can fit back into that one. :)
For me, there's something very sensual about the "hip-spring ratio", the technical term for the difference between the waist measurement and the hip one. It's a very feminine curve, for me, and something that is accentuated in the style of corset I prefer (on me). I love the way I look in a corset. I also love the way it feels... A good corset supports the back, holds one's posture tight but not painfully. It should just feel good to wear, like a day-long hug.

Date: 2008-03-12 04:22 pm (UTC)What RPGs have you run or played in the last year? Which of these were playtest sessions?

Date: 2008-03-12 04:37 pm (UTC)I only ran one game (a tabletop Promethena One-shot for BlackHatMatt and some friends out in MA when he came to visit last spring).
I playtested Changeling with some friends in Boston, as well.
I did a lot of one-shots at conventions: Changeling and Promethean, mostly. And I've done a lot of LARP, in the last few months: Vampire and Changeling.
I would say Changeling has been my big "to do" of the year, on many levels.
Okay ...
Date: 2008-03-12 04:40 pm (UTC)Also, what are your thoughts on the upcoming flyby of the Cassini probe through the vapour plume jetting up from the surface of Enceladus, and do you ever wonder whether the Flintstones and the Rubbles ever indulged in swinging parties - pre the arrival of Pebbles and Bam-Bam, of course.
Those topics should generate some data. :)

I don't actually have any thoughts on the Cassini probe, as this is the first I'd heard of it (I don't keep up on the science news the way I should.) I'm all for "more input" however. Are there some controversies about it?
I never did think that. They just don't seem to have a "swinger" vibe to me. No spark between, say Wilma and Barney or Betty and Fred, although I guess you never can tell. Some folks are stealth-kinky. :)
I'm curious as to why you'd clarify "pre-kids," though. Do you think that a couple's sexual preferences/activities/predalictions do/should inherently swing closer to "mainstream" after having children? Does the role of parent inherently carry with it a moral burden to change one's views/practices in regards to sexual activity?
Re: Okay ...
Date: 2008-03-12 06:08 pm (UTC)The original plan for the Cassini probe was that they were going to fly her as close to Enceladus as some 25 km - on Earth, this'd be inside the atmosphere, but on Enceladus it's probably still hardish vacuum at that height from the surface.
As it is, NASA bottled out, and now they're talking about 50 km; either way, the course takes Cassini through one of that moon's mysterious vapour plumes:
In one episode of The Flintstones, when the Rubbles' home was flooded (Fred again!) Barney and Betty, the prehistoric abductees, were forced to move into Fred and Wilma's. Fred and Barney slept on the chair and the couch, of course ... but (quite innocently, I might add) Wilma and Betty declared that they were going to share Fred's marital bed - a comment that had me acquire a sudden newfound interest in their Antediluvian antics.
As for whether they continued swinging post-children ... it was probably a combination of peer pressure and necessity: with the onset of global cooling and encroaching glaciation, the citizens of Bedrock were starting to get desperate towards the end. Fossil evidence shows that food was getting so scarce they were forced to kill and eat their own washing machines.
