In which we are (closer to) done...
Oct. 11th, 2005 01:05 pmAfter taking a little break on the novel while folks got a chance to read over it (and my Father in Law visited), I found a couple of things I wanted to add, some errors I had to fix, some threads that needed to be woven in a bit more. I finished the glossary, and tidied up things especially in the first three chapters, which I figure have to be the tightest (because I trust that a reader who gets that far will be hooked, but if I don't get them by the first three chapters, I'm not going to.)
So, I'm still waiting for word back from a few folks, but other than any changes/additions/deletions that crop up as a result of those read-throughs, it's done.
Final word count (By microsoft word counter): 100,360 (including the glossary)
Pretty damned close to my 100K goal
Now to find a source for manuscript boxes locally.
Hopefully I'll hear back from folks who are reading through this week, and can get it ready to send out by this weekend.

Date: 2005-10-11 09:03 pm (UTC)I'm going to be sending out the queries for my "top choice" agent and the publisher at the same time. Just because I'm stressing out about it and want to get it off my plate.
