In which we snarl..
Oct. 1st, 2005 10:23 pmThere is a special hell for those who do not use spoiler space when discussing movies I want to see, especially not when it's only the day after opening night.
One of my mailing lists (not a firefly one, so hopefully it didn't affect that many folks) just had someone post a reply that effectively spoiled at least a half dozen aspects of the movie.
It was a response to someone who used very simple one-or-two word phrases to touch on things they'd been confused about or touched by, or thought were cool (I had been avoiding reading the Serenity threads in order to avoid the possibility of spoilers, but the replies had no spoiler, so it got me as soon as it hit my in box.) The first person was very kind, and only put things like "Inara". Yes, we all know Inara was in the movie, and the significance of saying it didn't spoil a damned thing. The jerk who went into detail about why the first person had posted the name, however, just fucked over me (And whoever else didn't manage to avoid reading it before realizing what it was) without so much as a dinner date first.
DAMMIT
I hate that!
Mind you, I still want to see it, but there are now several things that will not be surprises that should have been, and I'm mad as hell about it.

As kindly as you can be with a crow-bar anyway.

Date: 2005-10-02 04:19 pm (UTC)I intend to not only see this film a second time, but perhaps more than that...and it is, without question or doubt, a DVD keeper (whether it has extras in it or not...even if Simon's shirt is on or off...).
Even knowing things, you will be so glad you saw it. Serenity is an AMAZING film.

My two cents' worth.
Date: 2005-10-02 04:55 pm (UTC)*sigh* I'm still urked that FOX took it off the air... it was so pretty. It could've been the next Babylon 5! Now they're playing what they had of the series on SciFi channel in TV format, when it was origionally letterbox. Oh well... it's better than nothing.
Perhaps I'll raid WayfarerAtlas' DVD collection for his DVD Firefly set and burn copies... For the road of course. :P
