In which we become reacquainted...

Yesterday, as I got out of the shower, I saw a glimpse of someone I used to know in the steam-glazed mirror.

I hadn't seen her in a very long time, and so at first I wasn't certain it was really her. I paused, moving slowly so as not to frighten her off.

My eyes danced over her form, taking in the angle of her jaw, the curve between waist and hip, the long creamy flow of her skin from shoulder to rounded haunch.

It was her. I couldn't believe it. I'd thought her long gone from my life, my thoughts, my heart, my mirror.

Somewhere in there, beneath the fries and the frapaccinos, under layers of bulky clothing and tired excuses, the old me still exists.

And yesterday I caught a glimpse of her in my mirror.

I couldn't have done it (couldn't be doing it is probably better wording, as it's an ongoing thing) without the folks on the South Beach forums and their support (not to mention my fabulous (And now getting both buffer and more skinny himself) hubby...
