This weekend:
Mostly homebody, cooked, tag saled, went to a county fair

Writing:
Getting back involved in the novel today, took a week break to finish project (see editing below), confirmed I'll be working on Exalted project later in the year, which pretty much rounds out my "rest of the year", which is great. First time I've had project on project lined up professionally. Tonight, may go to a writer's group over in Holyoke with a new friend, Joe. I don't usually attend them, being too damned busy actually writing, but he's a nice guy and I could use to get out.

Editing:
Went over 64 pg product for Steampunk Productions out of the UK this week. Interesting stuff, although future soldier is not my prefered genre. The owner/writer/publisher, Andrew, seemed pleased with my work, so maybe this will turn into more professional editing in the future. He may have more work for me towards the end of the year.

SCA:
Had folks over Friday night for bardic. Sang a couple of numbers, helped a girl put together a dress for the next day (Who shows up at 7pm at an activity designated for something else with fabric (no pattern) and wants help putting together something for the next day? That's just insane.)

Good deed:
Made a hella-buncha risotto for a friend who hurt her back. Unfortunately, she's the same friend for whom I unloaded half a trailer and hauled it up three flights of stairs last week, and went and helped pack boxes on my anniversary. See a trend?

Weight Fu:
Still losing. Still happy eating on the SB plan. 17 pounds in 4 weeks keeps up with my average of 8 lbs first week (mostly water weight, I'm sure) and 3 pounds each week since then. I think I'm probably going to drop down to a pound or two a week at this point, since the first 20 or so is always the easiest to lose. And that's fine. I'd keep eating this way even if I wasn't losing weight, although I think it would be harder to convince myself to stay active if I wasn't seeing some scale-benefit to it. Not that I'm doing much, just hiking/walking every day and the occasional DDR session.

Relationship:
All goes well. Pat and I are really enjoying doing this South Beach thing together, and it's had lovely health benefits. (between the two of us, there's 30 pounds less between us when we hug. How nice is that?) On slightly stranger news, apparently every freak in the universe thinks it's the time to contact me. I've gotten chatted up by more weirdos randomly paging me out of the blue on Trillian this week than in the last year put together. Not people who've seen my book or my website and followed up, those I never mind, but just random "a/s/l" folks who seem to think I've got nothing better to do than cyber with total strangers. Heavy use of the Block feature this week.

Camarilla:
It's become obvious that, as much as I'd like to, I can't juggle attending games that are an hour plus away and still keep up with my career and my family. So, I guess Cam will have to go on hold, as I also have no time for the cheerleading/organization that it would take to roster up a local group. The non-cam LARP that plays garou is having a BBQ here at our place on Sunday, so that will be interesting. They only meet once or twice a month, and they're only about 25 minutes from here, so it's not much of a commitment, time wise.

Cam wise you could always shoot for ICC...but with all the moving stuff and writing you it may be a little too short notice. But it'll be great...honest.

I didn't realize you were a Cammie...lol.

The problem with ICC/regional cons is that, if you're not playing on a regular basis, you don't really have much to do there, either IC or OOC.

I'm hoping to maybe make next years, if I can do so, or some of the regional ones if I'm still doing a bunch of writing for WW.

I had a moment of glee when one of my friends who is an ST back home said that one of the other players had come up to him at a game and gone off about how the first chapter of Predators should be part of the base book, how it was important to the whole game, etc. And my friend got to point out that I had written it... It was a happy moment, even heard about third hand. :)

hehehe, that's great.

I know what you mean about the lack of involvement with plot if you can't play. I'm only going to ICC for two venues...Changeling and Mortals.

But I think there's lots to do OOCly. Of course, I love to volunteer, so that may be part of how I stay occupied. ;)

I'll probably end up playing in other venues...but those two are the reason I'm going to the con.

Maybe you could look into 4-winds games? Or even look into travelling on weekends to games near by?

I have played with the Boston group once, so far. Unfortunately, my job isn't really a 8-5 thing, and if I travel 2 hours to a 6 hour game and 2 hours home, not only have I missed out of 10 hours of time I could be writing, but also of 10 hours away from my family. (Not to mention being groggy the whole next day because strangely enough the world doesn't wait for me to drag my carcass out of bed at noon... Family's up by 8, so so am I, even if I've been out til 2).

Distant games just aren't working for me.

Where do you live again? Where did you move too? Keep thinking Montana but I am pretty sure that isn't right.

Further away, love. Easthampton, Massachusetts. 2 hours inland from the East coast.

Well I knew it started with an M :)
I am going to try to visit my aunt in Baltimore next spring. Maybe I will try to stop out there and visit you too if you don't mind.

Can you and/or Pat give me a buzz on Trillian? My old PC died and now I don't have your IM.

That's it, when I'm a medium, I'm getting a black vinyl dress with skull heads like that! It's adorable!
