In which we are pleased...
Aug. 29th, 2005 08:04 pmI haven't used my little writing mofo guy in a while... I deserve it. I just calculated and not only have I written more than 2400 words today alone, I've consistantly written more than I needed to meet my deadline every day for the last five. Thereby whittling away at the days I'll need to finish, and giving me more time to work on the contracted project I have for White Wolf's Forsaken supplement that's coming out and my rough draft is due 11/11.
I blame my new friend, Genny from ShadowNEssence, who's reading things and clammering for more as I go.
I did a great deal of piecing together of the work I did pre-move, after realizing that things weren't going to go right the way I had them laid out. Not many folks want to read a paranormal book where the first reference to the paranormal is at the end of the story. So, I built a framework for the "how she becomes a vampire" story with another story entertwined in and around it.
It's working, I think, but that's why I haven't been posting it on my "Jessworks" journal. I may do so at a later date, if folks are still interested. I'm not even sure who's still on there.
But, Since the end of my workday on the 24th (so the 24th's work isn't counted, it's only 5 days of writing) I've written: 12% of the book, which means 12,110 words, or an average of 2422 words a day.
And, I'm on a roll and will likely get quite a bit more written tonight.
But not until I treat myself with a South Beach friendly dessert of some sort.
Because I write like a mofo.
