Damn my helpful friends! *chuckle* Okay, so not not really, but...

Wonderful friend I met at the Writer's Conference sent me info on a publisher (Carnifex Press) who's putting together an anthology of short stories in the horror genre. The theme? Revenants...

Per their web site:
"A Reventant is a ghost or being tied to a particular area, whether a house, a graveyard, an abandoned building, a Walmart, etc. There is a reason he/she/it is there... and a story behind it, right?"

So, as if I didn't have anything else to do, I began writing a short story for their anthology, just on the outside chance they might like it.

I'm now 2000 words plus into the story and trying to figure out how to wrap the ending around the way I want it to go. (I swear, sometimes storytelling is like trying to knot a particular rope in a particular fashion to get the aesthetically pleasing, but still structurally sound knot you'd envisioned when you begain.)

I'll post it here, when it's done and polished.

seems like a great project (love what is essentially a good ghost story!)

If you plan to submit it, you may not want to post it here.
Some publishers have issues with 'first appearance' and might give you trouble.

I think you should forward me the info on the anthology, because, well, short stories are more my thing than novels. :)
