In which we update...

Well, let's see...
I'm plugging along, bit by bit, on my novel. I'm about here:
I got through a part that was frustrating me, and am taking off into stuff that's going fairly quickly. I keep reminding myself that I have to get this done so that I can start on the White Wolf project I picked up last week. I'm doing some research on it (going to take a big list of books down to the library to see if they can get them in on interlibrary loan for me) but not going to start the actual writing until I get a bit more feedback from the other two who are working on it.
Other than that, it's about the same here. We discovered that our facia boards and gables (part of the house up by the roof) have been infested with carpenter bees and wasps, which is encouraging the woodpeckers to come and eat them (and our house). We're getting those exterminated next week, as well as having them spray for the carpenter ants that are beginning to make their way inside. Still no clue about why the deluge of water happened indoors last month, but since having no bathroom ceiling downstairs hasn't helped us find out what happened in the last three weeks, we'll probably have the guy come out and replace it and fill the facia boards and repaint them when they are done exterminating the bees and wasps.
That's about it.

Date: 2005-08-03 07:44 pm (UTC)Just reread von Frisch's Animal Architecture and was fascinated all over again by mason bees and potter wasps....but no one wants them in their house!
Might get to work on my own novel.
