In which we test our new icon...

This icon is the sample art sheet from the first three stories I'm working on with the fabulous Rebecca Woods (of Mercury Studios), entitled In A Dark Wood. We're kicking the project into high gear and hope to have it ready to submit to a publisher within the next month or two.

EDIT: For more information on Rebecca and Mercury, see their article in last Sunday's Oregonian which is also available on line here. It's got the full text, but no pictures, which is sad, because their pictures rocked.

Having now sampled both your writing and Rebecca's artwork, I can say with certainty that this will be a wonderful and I've no doubt successful venture. I wish you both the best of luck with it and anxiously await the finished product.

Dudette! You're working on a comic/graphic novel? I am so horribly jealous! Wahh! How'd you get that gig?

*chuckle* Big difference between "get that gig" and working on a comic/graphic novel. Rebecca and I were friends 10+ years ago, when she was just a kid in high school who loved art. We remet about 6 months ago, and spent the entire evening going "You're an artist!" "You're a novelist!" "But You're an artist!"

By the end of our second get-together, we'd come up with the idea for In A Dark Wood, and the next day the script for the first issue was almost done (wow, way different challenges than writing a novel, I tell you!). We both had a hectic holiday, wrapping up other projects, but we're now gathering submission guidelines and beginning to prep our submission packages for a handful of companies we think would be the best fit for our work.

So, keep your fingers crossed for us! :)
