In which we update quickly...
Jan. 26th, 2005 11:24 amTime, as it always seems to be, is short.
Update will be as well, but not vague, I hope.
Jim just left. Great guy. Hope he comes to visit again soon, and that his trip will help clear his writer's block.
Coffee out was great. Goobed, with no pretense about IC rp or being anything but big ol' gamer goobs. It was great.
Not getting enough sleep. Working til 12-1, sometimes later, getting up by 7, feel like I'm running at a constant sprint.
The contract for the project I'm calling "Bad Dreams and Night Things" just came. Not getting paid what I'd like, sucks breaking into a new part of the company you've been working with for a couple of years and getting paid like a total noob. But, it's an interesting project, and I'm learning a lot about the system that I might not have done otherwise. And, I'm helping out my line developer, which is a goodness and hopefully will be good writing karma.
Not working on the Venice novel until I'm done with this project, but it has to be sent in by Monday, so... next week, back to my own work.
No real developments on the job/house hunt. Found some gorgeous houses, but not really wanting to move locally until we've had a few months of effort into finding a new job for Pat. If it turns out there's really nothing out there for him right now, then we'll start looking for a place local, but out in the country.
Doing a great deal of purging, house wise. Donated boxes and boxes of cotton cloth I had pack-ratted away. Trying to realize that I am in a place financially where it makes more sense to spend $100 once a year on nice linen/wool/silk fabric to make a specific outfit than it does to spend $20-30 a couple times a year to packrat things that I will probably not end up using anyway. Ditto with the rest of my life (books, nick-nacks, etc.) We'll probably be doing a big trip to Powell's soon, trying to cut our book collection in half.
Things are all set for Hawaii. Gone the first two weeks in April, looking forward to it /desperately/.

Lemme know!
