Apparently what I need to do my fullest day of productive work is... the threat of impending company...

I've spent the entire day awaiting the arrival of Jim Comer (writer of the Mokole book and Revised Child of Gaia Tribebook, for those who care about such things). I have no clue when he's going to arrive, but expecting Murphy's Law to come into play, I got up early, cleaned house a bit, did the dishes, and then threw myself into my writing. Since he's going to stay for a few days and during our brief meeting in Southern California I found him fascinating to chat with, I figured my best bet to get /any/ work done this next few days was to get in and do what I could before he arrived.

It's now 3, and I'm closing in on 20K of my 30K goal. By telling myself "I'll just try to get this one little thing done before he shows up... oh... okay, well, I'll just start that one, and then I'll have a step up on it when he gets here... Well, I'm almost done now, I bet I can wrap it up before he shows..." I've gotten in a hella good day's work. :)

And he's not here quite yet, so I'm going to go wrap up the little piece I'm working on... Maybe start the next one... :)

Oh, and for those of you in the Portland area... we'll be out at Janzen Beach Denny's from 7-10pm tomorrow for coffee and hanging out. I'd like to make him feel welcome, so come on out and hang out with us, if you can! Bring your Mokole book and get it signed or just sit and talk about the new Werewolf stuff that's coming out (he's writing for that too, one of the reasons I'm so jazzed about his arrival!)
