In which we take a deep breath...

Thank you to all of you who have been keeping good house thoughts going for us here in Bisbee. It's been a little hectic (boy is that an understatement!) but it all worked out in the end. We managed, through some creative financing, to get into our top choice house, and we'll be picking up the keys at 4pm today and starting the move-in.
I can't even begin to find words to say how relieved I am to be moving into a place that will be /ours/. I'm a boggan at heart, and working, cooking, cleaning and taking care of the family in a place that is not only mine, but is chaotic in both energy and physically, is a lot with the crazymaking for me. I can't wait to drag my crockpot out of storage and make our first batch of chili, and to snuggle with the family on our own couch again, not to mention sleeping in our king bed again (as opposed to the 'double mattress, on the floor' we've been in for the last two months.)
Anyway, this is likely the last breather I'll have again until our stuff is all out of this rental and the storage unit and my office is set up, so thank you all again for your good thoughts!

Date: 2007-09-27 11:30 am (UTC)I always hated the last part of unpacking, where you're left with the stuff you have no idea what to do with and end up packing it away again. On the upside, this can lead to interesting discoveries years later when you clean out your attic/basement/garage. "Oh, wow! I haven't seen this in years! I wondered what had happened to it."
(Ten years and still unpacking...)
Oh my

Date: 2007-09-27 03:23 pm (UTC)I totally understand the whole Boggan thing, believe me... so glad you are finally getting your stuff out of storage! Especially the bed, hard to picture you and the Viking on a double matress on the floor.. ugh..
*Hugs to all!*
Go You! :)

What I learned from our move six years ago: Do not lose your sewing machine manual! (We still haven't found it!)
