In whic we are Thankful...
Nov. 26th, 2004 10:42 pmThings are so crazy, sometimes it's hard to slow down long enough to reflect on what abundance we have...
25 things for which I am Thankful
25. That the worse thing I have to worry about my youngest daughter is her reluctance to go to sleep.
24. That my son's marriage seems to be working out well.
23. That my elder daughter found a job that makes her happy (Mervyns, for my little clothes-fiend!)
22. That Pat has a job that provides us with everything we need and many things we want.
21. That we have insurance. Health insurance is a blessing that I sometimes take for granted. I'm thankful that we do not have to put off tending to our health because of financial ramifications.
20. That the love of a dog for his pack is so complete and relentless. Anubis has been an incredible addition to our family.
19. That old friends sometimes come back. And when they do, sometimes they're even better friends than they were before.
18. That my little car is still so cool I'd consider driving to LA rather than flying if time allowed.
17. That my parents are happy and safe in Yuma, enjoying their retirement.
16. That my love of fairy tales and comic books may finally be paying off.
15. That I have the leisure to pursue a career that makes me feel good about myself more often than not.
14. That Pat's dad seems to be coping with the loss of Pat's mom. Pat pointed out that this is the first Thanksgiving in almost 50 years that he hasn't had her with him. The thought breaks my heart.
13. That we have a roof over our heads, food in the cupboards and enough to share.
12. That all of our pets seem to be in good health at the moment.
11. That I have not yet run out of words.
10. That the rough draft of the werewolf novel is done.
9. That, when the opportunity to go to GenCon and get some face time with White Wolf came up, so did the means to pay for it.
8. That people have come into our lives who seem to be nurturing our creative sides.
7. That I have friends who understand when my schedule gets insane, yet again.
6. That my sister, although she doesn't understand me, loves me.
5. That I'm not afraid to fly, to travel alone, or to speak in public.
4. That it looks like we'll be going back to Hawaii about 9 years ahead of schedule. (snorkelling... *happy sigh*)
3. That Pat loves me even when I hopelessly fall off the low-carb wagon.
2. That I'll get to see my son tomorrow.
1. And most of all... that I am married to my best friend and that 15 years later I'm more in love with him than I ever have been.
