Do any of y'all use Technorati?
If so, in what capacity? I've added it to my website at my technical advisor's recommendation, but I am still kind of uncertain how to optimize it's use.

So it is a good idea for your blog to use tags. Now, this could get missused like the old "meta" tags in HTMl where a site creator could put in their own keywords. Porn sites would include popular search terms (like say "ipod" today) in the hopes of luring users to their sites. iPod is one of the most popular tags on Technorati, so if you wanted lots of visitors you could tag a post "iPod." But they'd be lots of annoyed visitors, I think.
You want to use tags that are associated with what you do, like writing, White Wolf (and also the alternate white-wolf), werewolf, promethian, gaming,... etc.
It's part of the whole "collaborative folksonomies" movement that librarians write long papers about (I've just coded one such up for a student journal I am working on). The idea of individuals labeling essays or photos, and then seeing who uses the same labels.
