Home from Orycon now...

Many high points... my first experiences in public as a professional author. meeting up with friends I haven't seen nearly often enough. claiming "friends-of-friends" as my own friends now. getting to know some new folks as well. signing books. and best of all, spending 3 days straight with Patrick with no household obligations, no computers...

Many low points as well. I severely misguessed the length of my reading piece and did exactly what I hoped not to (ran over). Did some emotional rollercoastering that's left me very unsure of some things, and uncertain how to accertain what's what. Saw one friend hurting, watched others get sick (mostly through their own over indulgences).

But for now, just very very tired, slightly uncertain, and looking forward to whatever the next big adventure might be.

I wish i could've made it.. they didn't have any day passes for sunday and we're a bit short on cash. I'm glad it went pretty well..

You did great at the reading. It was pretty obvious to me that everyone there rather wanted it to continue. I sure did. Still need to track down the book and pick it up...

somehow missed you at the few parties I made it to, though. Didn't seem like nearly the party scene of past OryCons. Wonder what happened.

Well, I got to see Jess for the second time in one calendar year, so I was happy. And I got to see Patrick, too, for, like, the first time in decades!
