Kids are funny.
Autumn was broken hearted when Jen and I got new Jammies for Jammie Night at Embers last month, so we got her a pair which she promptly decided would be her halloween costume this year (She was going to be "A girl from a slumber party".)
Then, about a week ago, apparently she decided this was not creepy enough for Halloween, and decided she wanted to add vampire makeup to the costume...
We decided she would then be a "Ghoul from a slumber party".
Trick or treating was fun, but over early since it was a school night, so I got dressed up after we got home and the candy was all sorted (and sampled). In my Buccaneer hat and over-the-knee boots, with a blousy shirt and black miniskirt with skull buckles, I was the Pirate Queen of Embers. :)
But alas, not so much organizing a mutiny, although I still profess there were enough pirates there to do so. I actually got asked to dance by a very handsome, clean cut young man in pirate gear, but the music was very latino and the dance floor was packed, so I demurred.

Date: 2004-11-01 02:54 pm (UTC)The dream involved Exalted, too. What a coincidence. :) This is probably why I'll be off shortly to purchase your book.
Glad you had a great time at Embers, though. I wish I had a costume that cool.

Date: 2004-11-02 08:09 am (UTC)I've become rather adept over the years (Cam/SCA/etc) at slapping together pieces to give the impression of a costume. :) I realized at Embers that I'd gotten rather snobbish about it. There were several folks there in obviously rented/purchased costumes, and I was like... "Anyone can do that..." *bonks herself on the head for snobbery*
