This made my day.

I know it's likely just a campaign trick, designed to bring in the easily gullible and soft-hearted (like me). But it still made me grin.

You know those letters kids write to famous folks as school projects? Obama wrote back.

For the entire month of October, Flames Rising has featured a new non-game specific write up (some in fiction form) of a monster each day. My piece, Falling for Her, featuring a crafty succubus, was used earlier in the month, accompanied by custom art-work by Jeff Preston.

I'm honored to have the Halloween spot on Flames Rising's Monster Madness Month as well. Check out Reflections for your daily dose of scare. It's my take on the "ugly vamp" as illustrated by Ma href="http://www.bradleykmcdevitt.net/">Brad McDevitt.

Then stick around to explore their site, they've got a plethora of super-creepy goodness for the not-so-faint-of-heart. And they're a great site to use to purchase your favorite PDF products, including White Wolf electronic books and Storytelling Adventure Systems like The Rose-Bride's Plight.

My friend James' work is having a costume contest. He's been very brave and dressed as a leatherman (albeit a stereotypical one, ala Glenn Hughes from the Village People. Still, such bravery should be rewarded (and the contest winner will receive $300, so that's a nice reward.)

So check out the pictures .

There's some great costumes, including one that's probably NSFW, being a cloth version of Borat in a swimsuit (with a rather impressive "accessory".

And be sure to vote for "Assless Chaps" aka James!

Thanks!
