In which we update...
Oct. 15th, 2008 07:11 amBullet points today, because I'm in a hurry...
- The awesome folks at Flames Rising just posted a review of The Rose-Bride's Plight, the SAS product I wrote for Changeling: The Lost. Check it out, and while you're there, be sure to read through their special Monster Madness Month, wherein they're featuring a short write up of 31 different monsters, one for each day of October leading up to Halloween!
- I leave tomorrow for my first-ever "family girls weekend out" with my mom and sister. We're meeting up in Las Vegas tomorrow and will be exploring the city until Sunday. Just giving all of you who live out there fair warning, expect an influx of craziness!
- I'm almost done with my next project for White Wolf. It's really interesting, and has been more challenging than I expected it to be, in part because it's something I hadn't done before. After the novels I wrote for them, the next 20 or so products I worked on them were fairly similar. Completely different topics, of course, but they were standard game books or supplements, which require a certain type of writing, organization, etc. In the course of the last dozen projects I've done for them, I've done a bunch of different things. The Nos clanbook was a very different writing style than a standard supplement. The Changeling SAS I did was very very different, being a non-linear murder mystery using electronic media rather than print. My last Lost project (which should be out in January-ish, I think) was very mechanics heavy, which isn't my strongest point, but its something I'm wanting to buff up and had the opportunity to do so. The current project I'm working on (another SAS, although I can't say more than that) is also very different... it's been fun to stretch myself in some new directions, along with writing some of the standard style stuff. Heck, I even turned in a couple of pitches to a non-White Wolf company last week! Talk about breaking out of your comfort zone!
- I'm going to miss seeing you all at ICC, so have a great time and take lots of pictures. Especially of a certain antlered redhead.
- Still working the day job one day a week. (Shoot me now please.) Today I've got a (supposedly) promising intervew with a potential replacement (yes, yes, I know, I've heard that one before too.) Keep your fingers crossed that she's at least somewhat competent on computers, eh?
