Much to do, so I'll make this short.

We managed to get our stuff from Tucson in the PODs that it was all shipped in from Massachusetts out to the temporary storage unit here in Bisbee, in no small part due to the assistance of my mom and dad. We got the Viking a small rental car, while we decide what we're going to do vehicle wise (if we end up buying a house in San Jose (the area of Bisbee, not the city) then we won't really need a second car because it's less than a half mile to his work, and he can just walk or I can drop him off/pick him up with no real problem.

Which brings us to our big news... We put an offer on a house here in Bisbee. It's 3 bedrooms, 2 baths, 1959 ranch style. The furnishings/decor/cabinets, etc are very very 1960s, but the house is very structurally sound (especially for Bisbee) and it's on an acre and a quarter. They're asking 269K, which is (according to our realtor) about 25K overpriced for the current market, so we offered 245 and should hear back one way or the other within the next 8 hours (we made the offer on Saturday and set a 4pm Monday deadline). I hope they accept it, it's the nicest place we have found in Bisbee that's anywhere near our price range, and the views are (as stated on the add) spectacular. There's a lot of things I'd like to change about it (the bathrooms are both miniscule, and the bedrooms (including the master) are all small) but it's "move in ready" and has a great 2 car garage (which the Viking will likely commandeer as a shop) and a big kitchen - with pink formica countertops... No... let me expand on that. Pink formica countertops with bevelled edges... And the bevels are turquoise formica. Seriously.

Being as though we're using a VA loan, we expect that even if they do accept our offer, we'll be in the rental house (Great Aunt Selma's) through the end of October. Which is fine, except that I have to figure out a place to work. There's a small desk in one corner of the living room, but it's also the only room that has a TV or couch for the Viking and Valkyrie to hang out in, making it difficult for me to work while either of them are home/awake. And since the only rooms that have doors I can close to get some quiet while they're home are the two bedrooms (neither one of which is big enough for me to pull the desk into) or the bathroom (which is big enough, strangely, but... that would be a bit weird), I'm not sure exactly how to handle it. I may end up pulling one of the folding tables out of storage and running an extention cord out onto the front porch, which would be fine as long as the weather/bugs don't make it miserable to work out there. We'll have to see.

Anywho, have to go get some shopping done and then get back to work. Two big (and one little) project waiting for me to start in on them, and what with the move and all, I'm behind where I'd like to be. Take care, all!
