No words written today, but I did go through and deep clean the front room and dining room. Purged all those little stacky bits that we just end up sticking on bookshelves and such.
I've come to realize why my house will never look like the ones I see in magazines. They never have bookshelves... or if they do, they're populated only by matched set leather bound volumes, obviously chosen more for what's on the outside than the inside. They'll never know the joy of my collection of Andrew Lang Color Fairy Tale books, or the well worn copy of Emma Bull's War for the Oaks that will perpetually grace my shelves. More's the pity... for them.
Now I'm going to go take a quick shower (sticky jess = not fun) and then go get a massage from a friend who's working towards her license. See if she can get the knot out from under my right shoulder blade. (Yes, I know, Matt. It shouldn't thunk like that. It still does, though.)
After that, coming home to tackle the kitchen. I may not be able to get much (to be read as anything) done on my writing until I get my outline back from the editor, but I can get the house set to rights so that when it does arrive, I'll have less piled up to procrastinate on. (Nice theory, anyway)
