So, on a whim, we got Wii Fit a week or so ago. We finally got around to starting it, and it's actually pretty cool. It plays on the same things that MMORGs and other video games use to keep you interested. Short, attainable goals, positive reinforcement, random positive rewards, etc.
One of the things they do is use your BMI and some agility tests to give you your Wii age. I was a bit bummed to find that not only am I well into the obese category, but my Wii age starting out was 44, four years older than I am. However, after two days of playing, around a half an hour a day, I managed to drop about a pound (with no other dietary changes) and up my agility to the point where my Wii age is now 31!
The games are broken down into several areas: agility, strength, aerobics, yoga... I haven't tried the yoga yet, but all the other ones so far have been really fun. I love the hoola hoop strength game and the tightrope walking agility game is a blast. I can really see myself using this every day (heck, several times a day if I get a chance) just to help counter-act the horribly sedentary lifestyle I tend to lead.
In short? Wii Fit? So far, two thumbs up!
