I spent all day today doing what I hope is the last of the holiday shopping. Among my purchases - an artificial tree. This is the first time we've ever had one, but it seemed smart, what with the distance trees travel to reach here and the dry dry dry climate, not to mention the inflated cost. I'm one of those "up early, down late" tree people. I love christmas lights and would gladly put the tree up in mid-December (My folks always waited until after my birthday when I was a kid, which I adore them for, but I'm thinking next weekend might work, birthday or no). Wasn't really an option to leave it up too long, even with generous watering, because of needles dropping, fire danger, etc. Now, with this nice aritifical one, I can leave it through mid-January, if I want! Woot!
And, speaking of holiday shopping... if you haven't finished all of yours yet, maybe something from one of my friends would round out your present giving (or make a great gift for yourself!)
