Just saw my darling youngest daughter off to the bus for her first day of Middle School. She looked adorable (I'll post pictures later) in her pink and black striped socks, black gypsy skirt, sparkly tank and crocheted bolero. She's got a bright pink messenger bag this year, rather than a back pack.

I'm not ready for her to be this grown up.

In other news, the laundry's caught up, the dishwasher is running, breakfast is finished, the bed is made, and it's time for me to get my butt in gear and edit this UK project. See you when I emerge from the redlines!

I'm not a geek, but I play one on TV...

Not really, but it pleased me to no end today to take "geek points" away from one of my employers.

We were discussing whether a certain movie reference was too confusing for the book I'm editting for him, and he said that if I wanted to take out the reference to certain futuristic movies, Starship Trooper being the example I'd pointed out as possibly problematic, then I would need to remove references to Star Wars as well.

I got no end of glee in pointing out (to an independent game publisher/writer) that SW happens "A long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away..."

HURRAY for girl geeks!

He was mightily embaressed for making such a newb mistake.
