In which we are curious...

Have any of my friends ever done voice over work professionally (ie: compensated for audio recordings?)  Or have any resources about rates?

Thanks!

Sadly, no, but it's the sort of thing I'd love to be able to do, someday.

My brother does it professionally. http://www.linkedin.com/in/daernest

Let me know if you want to contact him.

Richard Dansky. [livejournal.com profile] rdansky Ask him! :)

He doesn't do voice over work...but he produces it. ;)

My friend Lisa has done quite a lot - if you don't get the answers you want from your FL, let me know and I'll get you in touch with her.

Voice Over Rates

Hi Jess et al,

Have you checked out the non-union standard rates sheet at Voices.com?

Here's a link:

http://www.voices.com/support/user-guides.html

You'll find a word document version and a PDF as well as other great resources along those lines.

Best wishes,

Stephanie Ciccarelli

Does the fact that I was in radio as an announcer and newsman from 1977 to 1982 answer your question?

Sadly, any recollections I'd have about rates would be incredibly out of date.
