In which we seek out our readers...

I've been contemplating paring down my friends list rather drastically, in preparation for the "Autumn's back in school, time to actually write rather than read LJ and forums all day..."

But today, Pandora's post got me to thinking that I should do this first.

"While I know most of the people on my friends list, I don't know everyone "well". Some people I know relatively well, others are on my freinds list because I want to get to know you more, or we have something else in common . Some of you I hardly know at all. Perhaps you lurk, for whatever reason. But you friended me and I'm flattered, thank you.

But here's a thought: why not take this opportunity to tell me a little something about yourself. Any old thing at all. Just so the next time I see your name I can say: "Ah, there's so and so...and....."

I'd love it if every single person who friended me would do this. Yes, even you people who I know really well. Then post this in your own journal."

But here's a thought: why not take this opportunity to tell me a little something about yourself. Any old thing at all. Just so the next time I see your name I can say: "Ah, there's so and so...and....."

I admire writers. I think because they do something, have chosen to do something, that I myself have thought about doing since I was a wee lass, but do not have the drive myself to take the step between 'thinking about it' to 'doing it' as they have. Instead, I have managed somehow to be blessed with surrounding myself with people I know who are or are actively working towards becoming published authors, and fortunate enough to be allowed to share their stories of what it is to be such an author.

Which, really, in writing it out, makes me feel like some sort of stalker. :)
