I just realized that I'm less than 14K words until the "word count" goal for this book is met.

That's realistically about a week's work, barring unforseens.

I'm not sure whether to be overjoyed or terrified.

I'm starting to think that there really will be an end to this. If I can get the storytelling finished by the weekend then maybe Pat and I can go over it with a fine toothed comb for grammar/word choice/continuity errors before next week. Then I can spend next week doing clean up work/adding-subtracting anything that needs to be done to bring it into a workable first draft and send it off to my editor...
