Nothing terribly new to report, so I haven't been updating much.

Still no real word on the job front. I'm going to start my search again in the Phoenix and Pacific NW areas on next Monday if I haven't heard anything before that.

I've had a lot of nervous energy of late, so I cleaned my home office.

Pat and I have the roof about 1/3 done, and hope to finish it up over the next few weekends. My folks are coming out this weekend from Yuma, so I don't know how much work we'll get done. I love seeing them, and don't make time to do so nearly often enough.

Autumn's doing great - anxiously awaiting the end of the school year here in a little over a month. She's branching out and experimenting with a lot of new manga, and her art styles are growing accordingly.

I got 4 mahjongs today at my Tuesday morning mah jong group! I'm usually lucky to get one or two.

Anubis' hips are hurting him again. We think it's either arthritis or hip dysplasia, so I'm taking him over to get a second opinion. The local vet wanted to do a tendon-clipping surgery that was the norm for treating hip dysplasia several decades ago, but which my research has turned up to be mostly considered "archaic" by modern vets. He's the doc who treated Pat's dogs when he lived here in high school almost thirty years ago, so I suppose I shouldn't be surprised. I'm hoping we can get some supplements/anti-inflamitories to help him without needing to resort to surgery right away.

And, with that, I'm off!

Yay for getting things done! I love Dr. Bone in Sierra Vista. I have taken all of my bebes there. His office is called Sierra Vista Animal Hospital. I also love Dr. Jackson at Apache, but they don't make appointments anymore and it's a hassle to just sit there and hope you get your pet seen.

We actually saw Doctor Bone (what a great name for a vet!) I was impressed. Twice weekly shots for the next month, then a daily supplement. Exactly the kind of thing I was hoping would help.

Yay! I'm glad you liked him. That is the perfect name for a vet, isn't it? I don't know the name of his associate, but she is wonderful as well. They dote (sp?) on everyone's pets like they are their own. When I had Annabella spayed they brought her out in a blanket and kept saying how cute she was and how much they loved her. awww. I'm glad the treatment is what you were hoping for! Surgery on an older dog (any, really) is scary.

Just give him Knox unflavored gelatin. It's basically the same stuff as in the glucosamine supplements and is much cheaper. It's also easier to hide in their food than a pill. All three of our kids take it.

I am confused? I thought you had moved because you had a job lined up?

I clearly fell behind in my keeping up with your life.

We moved to Massachusetts because the Viking had a job lined up. It turned out to be a dysfunctional work environment, so we found him a great job out here in Arizona and moved here. I've been freelancing this whole time.

Now, because the schools here are less than optimal (a fact we found out well after moving) we are looking at me quitting freelancing (or at least pulling way back) and getting a day job somewhere that the Valkyrie can go to a great high school, and having a bi-located household (since there's nothing of the quality we're looking for here within commutable distance).

ah well that makes more sense. Well you know we would always be glad to have you back in the northwest. Many of us miss your delightful bubbly personality...*g*

The work market isnt the greatest, but in the right community the schools are exceptional.
